Experience the majesty of Wales’ highest mountain, Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), via the scenic and less crowded Rhyd Ddu Path. This route takes you through peaceful woodlands and rugged landscapes before ascending to the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views across Snowdonia and beyond.

The Rhyd Ddu Path is a challenging but incredibly rewarding hike, offering a quieter alternative to the more popular Snowdon routes. Expect steep sections, rocky terrain, and a full day of hiking that will test your endurance and fitness. Our expert guides will be with you every step, ensuring safety, motivation, and support on this unforgettable journey.

Who Is This Event For?

This challenge is designed for walkers with a moderate to high level of fitness who are comfortable tackling a full day of mountain hiking on uneven and steep terrain. The Rhyd Ddu Path requires stamina and sure-footedness but is suitable for those with some hillwalking experience.

Ideal for adventurers who want to avoid the busiest routes, appreciate stunning natural beauty, and are ready for a physical challenge. With the guidance of experienced leaders, this event is perfect for anyone prepared to train and eager to experience Snowdon’s wild side safely and confidently.

 

You Will Need To Bring:

  • Suitable walking boots (with ankle support)
  • Appropriate clothing for the walk
  • Waterproof Jacket and trousers
  • Spare warm layer
  • Hat and gloves
  • Food, snacks and water (minimum 1.5 litre’s) for the walk
  • Camera to capture the adventure (optional)
  • Walking poles (optional)

The walk will take place in most weather but the leader will reserve final judgement on the day (in most cases) and maintains the right to abandon any walk if they feel the safety of themselves or any participant is at risk.
