The Lake District 8 Peaks Challenge:

Embark on a journey across eight of the Lake District’s most formidable peaks. This adventure includes a trek to the summit of Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, with full support along this stunning route in the heart of the Lakes.

This one-day challenge is no easy feat, with eight peaks to conquer. Get ready for an exhausting yet invigorating trek through the rugged and dramatic landscapes of the Lake District. Covering 15 miles, you’ll tackle some of England’s most challenging peaks, including the highest – Scafell Pike. The group will ascend over 3,000 feet (900m), crossing crags and moorlands past the Langdale Pikes towards Scafell Pike, before returning over the final two summits of the day.

Upon signing up, you’ll receive a comprehensive PDF packed with all the event details, training plans, and essential information you need to prepare for this incredible adventure. This guide ensures you’re fully equipped and ready to make the most of your Lake District 8 Peaks Challenge.

You Will Need To Bring:

  • Suitable walking boots (with ankle support)
  • Appropriate clothing for the walk
  • Waterproof Jacket and trousers
  • Spare warm layer
  • Hat and gloves
  • Food, snacks and water (minimum 1.5 litre’s) for the walk
  • Camera to capture the adventure (optional)
  • Walking poles (optional)

Please Note:

The walk will take place in most weather but the leader will reserve final judgement on the day (in most cases) and maintains the right to abandon any walk if they feel the safety of themselves or any participant is at risk.
