Brace yourself for one of the toughest full‑day treks in the English Lake District! This epic 15 mile (24 km) challenge traverses eight formidable fells, including Scafell Pike, Bowfell, Esk Pike, Ill Crag, Broad Crag, Great End, Allen Crags, and Rossett Pike

Starting from the Old Dungeon Ghyll in Great Langdale, the route follows rugged ridge lines, rocky passes, and moorland terrain before returning via late-day views across the High Fells. With over 3,000 ft (900 m) of ascent, rocky paths underfoot, and long stretches of constant elevation changes, this is a serious physical challenge.

You’ll be fully supported by experienced mountain leaders who keep the group safe, motivated, and on pace. Upon booking, you’ll receive a detailed PDF pack with training plans, kit advice, and event logistics to ensure you’re ready for this mountainous adventure.

Who Is This Event For?

This challenge is built for experienced walkers and endurance lovers who are eager to tackle one of England’s most demanding one-day mountain routes.

You’ll need a high level of fitness, confidence in tackling long hours of hiking on rough terrain, and the mental strength to keep going through multiple ascents and descents. While no technical climbing is required, being steady on your feet and prepared for challenging terrain is essential. Ideal for seasoned trekkers, ambitious first‑timers, and fundraisers alike – this event combines physical grit, stunning scenery, and team camaraderie in equal measure

 

You Will Need To Bring:

  • Suitable walking boots (with ankle support)
  • Appropriate clothing for the walk
  • Waterproof Jacket and trousers
  • Spare warm layer
  • Hat and gloves
  • Food, snacks and water (minimum 1.5 litre’s) for the walk
  • Camera to capture the adventure (optional)
  • Walking poles (optional)

Please Note:

The walk will take place in most weather but the leader will reserve final judgement on the day (in most cases) and maintains the right to abandon any walk if they feel the safety of themselves or any participant is at risk.
