Have you ever wanted to climb Mount Everest? Do you like the sound of reaching 8,848m above sea level, the highest point on Earth, at an altitude where humans are not designed to survive and where aeroplanes cruise? That sounds very dangerous, expensive and difficult to do with global circumstances right now…
But we have a solution
Can you climb the equivalent of Mount Everest in under 12 weeks?
For this challenge, you must achieve 8,848m of elevation gain before the end of the 12 week period, you can head to your local hill on your daily exercise, take on the stairs at home or tackle any other activity that involves a gradient, once completed this well earned medal will be yours!
Those wishing to complete the challenge on their daily walking routes, simply use your smart watch to track the total elevation achieved each day. You will be aiming for a total of 8,848m over the 12 week period, or 106m height gain per day.
How fast can you complete Everest?
Whether you aim for 4 weeks, 8 weeks or the full 12 weeks, once completed send an email to our team and let us know how you got on.
How it works:
1) Sign up to the Virtual Challenge – Everest
2) Complete all 8,848m of incline or 44,240 individual steps using your progress tracker to keep tally. (you will receive this automatically to your inbox once sign up is completed)
3) Email your evidence to firstname.lastname@example.org on completion
4) Put your feet up and thank your supporters
5) Wait for the postman to drop off your medal!
Simply take a picture of your fitness tracker, watch or any other tech device which shows you have completed your challenge and send it to: email@example.com. Include your name and the challenge you have completed. Haven’t got a tracking device? When signing up, you will automatically receive a printable tracking sheet sent direct to your inbox. During isolation we will also accept daily written logs or a picture of you at the end of your challenge with your time and distance written on a piece of paper – don’t forget to smile! Once we have received your photo’s, we will add you to the leader board and send your medal in the post.
All medals are subject to availability; we will aim to post medals within 3 days of evidence submission.
