Description

St James Way – Reading to Southampton

The St James Way is the authentic English start to the Camino de Santiago. Follow in the footsteps of pilgrims as we embark on this incredible journey from the ruins of Reading Abbey and make our way to Southampton where pilgrims would have continued on their journey to Santiago.

Our route takes us through rolling countryside and along canal and river paths which boasts spectacular views and are steeped in history. Normally pilgrims would take between 5-7 days to complete all 70 miles but we have only 3 days to make the journey and reach our final destination of Southampton.

The remaining 50%, and any extra, should be with your Charity by 4 weeks after the Challenge.

PLEASE NOTE:

The walk will take place in most weathers but the leader will reserve final judgement on the day (in most cases) and maintains the right to abandon any walk if they feel the safety of themselves or any participant is at risk.

This event has been created alongside Younger People With Dementia and as such by taking part in this event you will be fundraising for this cause. If you would like to fundraise for a different charity please contact us prior to sign up using our contact form Contact us – Elite Adventures

If you are entering on a Charity Sponsorship or Mixed Funding place then NO – you can only fundraise for the one charity, and they must be registered with us. This is because your charity will be paying for a portion of your place on the event (out of the fundraising that you generate). If you wish to also fundraise for another charity, you can do so on your own terms but only as long as you reach the minimum fundraising target for your first/prime charity.

Once you have signed up to an event, we will pass your details over to your chosen charity within 24hrs and you can expect to hear from them within 14 days. If for some reason you do not hear from your charity after this time, please contact them directly or email [email protected]
