Description

The National Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon) are the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.  Our challenge is to summit these three peaks, one each day.

The 3 Day 3 Peaks Challenge is to climb the three highest peaks in the UK over 3 consecutive days, whilst taking in the magnificent scenery these peaks have to offer.  This is the ideal event for those wanting to challenge themselves and complete the three peaks without the pressure of the 24hr clock. These peaks are Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales), and we complete them in that order.

We travel to Fort William on the Thursday, starting with Ben Nevis on the Friday morning, climb Scafell Pike on Saturday and finish Snowdon on Sunday!  Even though this is a more relaxed timescale than the 24hr Challenge, this is a tiring event and we advise participants regularly exercise in preparation for the event.

We aim to complete each of the mountains within 6-8 hours; however this will depend upon the speed of the group.  You will be guided and looked after by mountain leaders throughout the challenge.

Distance: 26 miles/42 km

Walk time: 6-8 hours per mountain

Total ascent: 3,000 m/9,843 ft

CHARITY FUNDRAISING DEADLINES:

All sponsorship goes direct to the Charity via their recommended giving pages. At least 50% of the sponsorship target should be with the Charity by 3 weeks prior to the Challenge. At this time the Charity confirms you are on track to meet the agreed minimum fundraising target. Failure to raise this amount may result in cancellation by your charity. The remaining 50%, and any extra, should be with your Charity by 4 weeks after the Challenge.

PLEASE NOTE:

The walk will take place in most weathers but the leader will reserve final judgement on the day (in most cases) and maintains the right to abandon any walk if they feel the safety of themselves or any participant is at risk.

FAQ’S:

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE ONCE I REGISTER?IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?CAN I CHOOSE A CHARITY NOT LISTED?CAN I FUNDRAISE FOR TWO CHARITIES?WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM MY CHARITY?
You will receive a receipt via email, along with a Confirmation Email welcoming you onto the challenge detailing any next steps and timelines you need to be aware of, and letting you know where to find all the information you will need for your challenge. If you don’t receive this within 24 hours, please check your spam/junk mail folders.
Yes you must be 18 or over on the day of the challenge if taking on a Full Challenge, 16+ & accompanied by an adult if taking on a Half Challenge, 14+ & accompanied by an adult if taking on a Quarter Challenge & finally 8+ for a 10km Challenge.

Under 18s taking part cannot sign themselves up – they must be signed up by someone over 18.

If there is a charity you would like to fundraise for that does not appear on our list, we ask that you speak with your preferred Charity about what you would like to, and ask them to register with us via our short contact form which can be found on our website page www.eliteadventures.co.uk/charityregistration

Once they’ve registered with us, it will take about 5-7 working days to add them onto our registration forms, and you can then sign up to your chosen challenge in aid of them.

Alternatively you can Self Fund your place and fundraise for them independently with no fundraising commitment.

Please note: the above is relevant for Charity Sponsorship or Mixed Funding places only. If you are entering as a Self Funder you can fundraise for any charity of your choice (only if you want to) & we do not need to be informed.

If you are entering on a Charity Sponsorship or Mixed Funding place then NO – you must select one prime charity for your fundraising, and they must be registered with us. This is because your charity will be paying for a portion of your place on the event (out of the fundraising that you generate). If you wish to also fundraise for another charity, you can do so on your own terms but only as long as you reach the minimum fundraising target your first/prime charity.

If you join as a Self Funder however, you have complete flexibility on who you fundraise for – with no targets or deadlines, and no cost to those charities.

If you have chosen to fundraise for a charity, we will pass your details over to them and you can expect to hear from them within 14 days. If for some reason you do not hear from your charity after this time, please contact them directly or email [email protected]
