SNOWDON – SUNRISE CHALLENGE: A Fundraiser for Bluebell Wood

Join us in the early hours for a remarkable journey to the summit of Snowdon (1085m), the highest peak in Wales, to witness a breathtaking sunrise. This is more than just a guided walk; it’s a unique chance to be part of a community-driven effort, combining adventure and charity. Your participation directly supports the extraordinary care provided by Bluebell Wood.

Meeting Point and Details:
Our adventure begins outside the Mountain Railway Station in Llanberis. After an informative briefing, we’ll embark on our journey.

Who Should Join?
Whether you’re a seasoned explorer or a weekend walker, this event is perfect for you. Led by a team of qualified mountain leaders, we’ll guide you safely through the darkness to the summit, offering an unparalleled experience of greeting the day from Wales’s highest point. The walk is accessible to all, but a reasonable level of fitness is required for your enjoyment and the group’s harmony, as the trek will take around 7 hours.

Please Note:
– Travel, personal insurance, and accommodation are not included.

Kit List

  • Suitable walking boots (with ankle support)
  • Appropriate clothing for the walk
  • Waterproof Jacket and trousers
  • Spare warm layer
  • Hat and gloves
  • Head torch and spare batteries (can be hired from us for £4 please remember to add this to your basket before paying)
  • Food, snacks and water (minimum 1.5 litre’s) for the walk

Your Charity Commitment:
When registering, you commit to raising money for Bluebell Wood. Your details will be shared with the fundraising team who will support in your fundraising efforts.

Fundraising Deadlines:
– At least 80% of your sponsorship target should reach the hospice 4 weeks before the challenge.
– All fundraising must be with the charity a maximum of 4 weeks after the challenge ends.
– Failure to meet these deadlines may result in cancellation.

Weather Advisory:
Mountain weather is unpredictable. While we aim for a spectacular sunrise view, safety is our priority. The walk leader reserves the right to make last-minute decisions for everyone’s safety. This may include descending to a better view point or not being able to view the sunrise at all.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE ONCE I REGISTER?IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?WHEN WILL I HEAR FROM BLUEBELL WOOD?
You will receive a receipt via email, along with a Confirmation Email welcoming you onto the challenge detailing any next steps and timelines you need to be aware of, and letting you know where to find all the information you will need for your challenge. If you don’t receive this within 48 hours, please check your spam/junk mail folders.
Whilst there is no age limit to this event, all those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian for the duration of this challenge.

Normally Bluebell Wood will receive your contact information within 48 hours of signing up, but on occasion this may be slightly delayed. We ask that if you haven’t received an email from Bluebell Wood within 7 days to reach out to us via email – [email protected]
